How-to guide

Your section's young people

A section's page lists its leaders, young leaders and young people. The young people list can be sorted, and every name opens that person's record.

Watch this on its own page
  1. Open the section

Choose Sections in the sidebar, then View Section on the one you want. Young people lists everyone in it, sorted by last name to start with.

Know who you're after? Press Ctrl+K (⌘K on a Mac), or Search at the top of any page, and start typing a name. It finds young people, adults and events in your group, and every page in the sidebar too, so it's the quickest way to get anywhere.

  2. Everyone in the group, by section

Young People in the sidebar lists everyone across the group. Each person shows the section they're in by name (Wednesday Cubs, say), and the section filter lists your group's own sections, so you can narrow it to one. Search finds anyone in the group by name.

Someone who leads a section, and has no group-wide role, sees only the young people in their own sections here, and the filter lists only those sections.

  3. Sort the list

Use the sort menu next to Young people to list them by Last name, First name, Age (oldest first), Patrol or Date joined. Anyone missing that detail, like a date of birth, goes to the end.

Patrol only shows when the section has patrols (or sixes, lodges and so on). The sort isn't saved, so the list goes back to last name next time.

  4. See each patrol at a glance

When the section has patrols, each young person's patrol shows as a label next to their name. Setting them up is in Patrols, sixes and lodges.

  5. Open someone's record

Choose a young person's or young leader's name to open their full record, with their contacts, medical details and badges.

  6. Print the member list

Member list on the section's page lists everyone in it with their role, leaders first. Print sends it to your printer, and Download PDF saves the same list as a PDF.

  7. The order sections are listed in

Everywhere Scout Suite lists sections, from the Sections page to pickers and reports, they go youngest first: Squirrels, Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Explorers, then Network. Two sections of the same kind go by meeting day, Monday first, then by start time, then by name.

A section that meets more than once a week is placed by its earliest meeting.
