How-to guide

Selling group stock

Anything in **Stock** can be offered for sale. A leader decides who can buy it, whether the quantity is limited, and what to ask for on the order. Parents buy from **Shop** in the family portal and volunteers from the shop on their profile.

Watch this on its own page
  1. Put an item on sale

Go to Stock and choose New item (or open an existing one). Tick Parents and volunteers can buy this, then set Who can buy it: parents and volunteers, parents only, or volunteers only.

  2. Limited stock or made to order

Limited stock blocks the sale when the count reaches zero, and each order reduces the quantity. Leave it off for something made to order, like an embroidered necker: orders don't reduce a quantity and it never sells out.

  3. Ask for what you need

Use Note to ask for to collect something on each order, for example Name to embroider. The buyer fills it in before they check out.

  4. How payment is taken

Checkout goes to the Group's payment provider (Stripe, or the Group's own Square account if it's connected), where any promotion code is applied. A basket isn't a charge until that payment goes through, and shop orders are never included in a Gift Aid claim.
