How-to guide
Mapping your HQ
A building's address is enough for leaders. The map pin is what the WordPress store locator needs so Find a Group actually lands on your HQ, not the middle of the postcode.
Add the building, not the room
Locations is under the group. Add the hut as a top-level location with its street address and postcode. Rooms — kit store, hall, garage — go Inside that building and don't get their own pin; they share the hut's.
The postcode drops a pin
As soon as the address includes a UK postcode, Scout Suite looks it up on postcodes.io and places a pin on the map. That's the centroid of the postcode, which is close — not always the door.
Drag it onto the hut
Drag the pin to the building itself, then Save location. Those coordinates are what the Scout Suite WordPress plugin writes into WP Store Locator / SFL as the group's lat and lon, so the Find a Group map on the district site points at the right place.
