How-to guide

Handling enquiries

Enquiries are everything that isn't a request for a place: someone offering to volunteer, a question about the Group, or a message to a District, County, Area or Region. Requests for a place go on the waiting list instead.

Watch this on its own page
  1. Where enquiries come from

The Scout Suite WordPress plugin adds an enquiry form to your website with the [scoutsuite_enquiry] shortcode or the enquiry block. Enquiries from it are marked via WordPress. Groups, Districts and Counties each have their own.

  2. Read them

Open Enquiries from the menu. Each shows who it's from, how to reach them, their message and when it arrived.

  3. Choose who gets told

Under Who gets notified, add the people who should get an email as soon as a new enquiry comes in, so nothing sits unread. The waiting list has the same setting for people asking for a place.

  4. Keep track

Set each enquiry to Contacted once someone has replied, and Closed when it's dealt with, so the team can see what still needs an answer.
